Sony’s flagship PC series, VAIO had a dream run when they released a convertible ‘ Flip PC’ that can be flipped between traditional laptop & modern tablet. The concept was introduced for the first time in 2013 & was a huge hit. To cash on the booming demand of convertible Ultrabooks worldwide, this time Sony has decided to offer a brand new 11-inches laptop- ‘VAIO Fit 11A’ which will follow the footsteps of Sony’s previous convertible laptops- Flip 13, Flip 14, Flip 15!!!!
As compared to its ancestors, Flip 11A is smaller, lighter, and cheaper & weighs around 2.8 pounds. Flip 11 A can be converted into a tablet by releasing the latches that holds the screen in upright position & flipping the screen 180 degrees backward on its fulcrum so that the screen will face outward.
Sony Flip 11A, just like its older siblings, is an excellent Ultrabook that runs on the latest Windows 8.1. It comes with a pressure-sensitive VAIO Active Pen that can be used for sketching applications. The pen is compatible with industry standard software like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop etc. The latest VAIO line up will include Adobe’s Photoshop Elements 12 software absolutely free of cost.
As far as technical specifications are concerned, Flip11A lives up to the expectations as it is powered by Quad-core Intel Pentium processor, 128 GB solid-state hard-drive & an outstanding 1920 X 1080 pixel HD touch screen with Triluminos technology. Higher versions of Flip 11A however, will have Intel Core i7 Haswell processor. All the models of this series will include an N-Trig digitizer.
Flip 11A is available in an assortment of colors such as black, silver & pink Aluminum. It will be available from this February at a starting price of $799. VAIO Flip 11A weighs a bit heavier than most of its 11-inch counterpart tablets. However, as far as performance is concerned, like all other VAIO laptops, this one also guarantees you a smoother, faster & elegant ‘Cadillac’ experience in PC’s.
Although Sony is expecting a good show from Flip 11A, the rising popularity of tablets has given rise to a stiff competition in this range & Flip 11A may have to face sturdy opponents like Apple’s MacBook, Lenovo Yoga 2 & ASUS.
At the end of the day, it can be very clearly seen that even being armed with state-of-the-art features & technology, Flip 11A won’t have an easy ride through the market as by the time it will start shipping at the end of February, plenty of debutant hybrid Ultrabooks will have crowded the market making each other’s survival critical!!!!
